Damon Braces vs Invisalign: A Detailed Comparison

Choosing between Damon Braces and Invisalign can seem like a big decision when you’re looking to straighten your smile. Whether it’s for the oral health benefits or to boost your self-esteem, adult orthodontic therapy can have a huge payoff. As such, you want to feel confident about the type of braces that you choose to complete your treatment.

At Mountain High Family Dental & Orthodontics, we offer both Damon Braces as well as Invisalign orthodontic treatment.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign works by using a series of clear plastic aligners that snap right over your teeth. There are no wires or brackets involved. Our patients love this option, because they’re easy to care for and comfortable to wear. Plus, you can eat all of your favorite foods since there are no dietary restrictions. In most cases, no one will even realize that you’re wearing braces.

Most of our Invisalign patients see results in as few as three months.

Benefits of Damon Braces

Damon Braces are an alternative to conventional metal orthodontics. They allow your orthodontic wire to “glide” through your brackets, so that there’s less tension (thereby, making them more comfortable.) No rubber bands or wire ligatures are necessary.

What about the metal brackets? There aren’t any! We use invisible, tooth colored brackets so that they aren’t noticeable unless someone is looking up close. Even the wires are designed to be subtle.

Choosing Damon braces means that you can see fairly quick tooth movement, with most cases being completed in less than a year.
